Editing
Proofreading, or line editing, is the process of checking information for typographical and formatting errors. It is usually the final stage of the editing process and focuses on surface errors such as misspellings and mistakes in grammar, punctuation, formatting and typesetting. There is no content editing done during proofreading.

The features of RDM's proofreading services are:

  • Enter corrections directly into the document file.
  • Check that abbreviations and acronyms are spelled out at the first reference.
  • Check for proper word usage.
  • Check for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors.
  • Check page breaks for widows and orphans.
  • Check the format of all parts of the document.
  • Check for correct pagination throughout the document.
  • Check the format and consistency of headers, footers and graphics.
  • Check the Table of Contents and Index for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
